Madelyn Training For The Olympics

Madelyn will do this move all day long. I laugh every time!

Madelyn's Crawling

Madelyn has actually been crawling for about a month now. It has been the greatest thing ever! She just crawls around the whole house entertaining herself. The only thing is that she steals all of Addy's toy away from her. She definitely has the upper hand now. I have actually had to break up a fight a time or two. No seriously! Addy will just be rolling around on the floor minding her own business and Maddy will crawl over to her and start grabbing at her face. She even drew blood!

Let her? Let her not?

My sweet little Addy! What to do? It's official, Addison is a definite thumb sucker. I've asked about 20 different people what to do with my situation. Almost all of them have been mothers of a thumb sucker, or have been a thumb sucker themselves. Do I let her suck her thumb? Or do I do every thing in my power to stop the sucking? They all had different but strong opinions on this subject. So after all that talking and conversing, I'm still conflicted.
I decided for myself that I wasn't going to let her suck her thumb. Let's just say it hasn't worked out like I thought. At first, every time Addy would suck her thumb I would pull it out, but right from the get go she would cry about it. Well when you have another baby with needs, and a three year old with needs, the last thing I want is another baby always crying because I'm pulling her thumb out of her mouth. In my defense she has been such a happier baby since she has discovered the thumb. Anyone who knows Addy knows that she has been a tough little cookie these past 9 months. So when she finds something to finally sooth and comfort her it is soooo hard to take it away. She won't take a bottle or a binki. She doesn't have a favorite blanket, or stuff animal. She has nothing but her tiny little thumb. Trust me I know what will come if I keep letting her suck her thumb, bad teeth, years of sucking, people making fun of her, etc...
So is it laziness on my part? Is it that I just want little less crying in my house? Or is it that I just want something for Addy to make her a happier baby? I believe it's probably all three.
I value my doctor opinion so I decided in a little over a week when I go to see my doctor I will take his advice and try what ever he tells me to do. So wish me luck!

Thanksgiving with the Carroll Family

Thanksgiving this year was a little tricky for us. Both babies desperately need a nap right during our Thanksgiving meal. While everyone was dishing up their food, I was upstairs trying to put the girls to bed. Luckily I got done before everyone finished. Thanksgiving Day is about being thankful, and I have so much to be thankful for. A wonderful, absolutely fun and crazy family, a husband who has helped me grow into a better person, and the three most precious gifts anyone could ever ask for, Jaxson, Madelyn, and Addison. What else could you ask for?

Jaxson had a blast playing BINGO thanks to Nikki.

I've Been Dazzled

Now this was a fun night! If you don't know already I love the Twilight Series. I've been looking forward to seeing the Twilight Movie forever. So I decided that me my sisters, and my fabulous mom need to make the most of this night. First we went and ate a delicious dinner at Tempanyaki's for Brittany's 24th birthday. Happy Birthday Brittany! After dinner we arrived at the theater to find an enormous line that trailed out of the theater and down 5 stores. I was freaking out thinking that we were the last to arrive, to only find out that they ended up opening 6 theaters for this movie. We stood outside for about an hour and a half till we got to go sit down. We all didn't get to sit by each other, but surprisingly we got decent seats. Brittany and I sat together with my mom right behind us. Nikki and Angie together a couple of rows up. At 12:01am the movie began. I can't say that I loved the movie. It wasn't all that I hoped and dreamed for, but it was definitely one of my favorite nights with my favorite people. (Don't forget that we couldn't go to Twilight opening night with out a Twilight T-shirt. As if!)

I made this shirt on my computer. I've got mad skills!

Snow Angel

Last time it snowed was on a Sunday morning. Jaxson was so excited, he kept asking me "mom can I go make a snow angel please!" We have church at 9:00 so I told him after church we can make snow angels. I was at home with the babies when Jaxson walked in the door bawling with huge crocodile tears. I asked him "what's wrong Jaxson?" He sadly responded "The snow is all melted and I can't make a snow angel now!" I felt really bad, he was soooo sad. I let him know next time it snows I promise we will make snow angels. He asked me ever day for about a week if it was going to snow. I had to tell him not for a while.
So today at 6:30 in the morning he woke up looked outside and saw it was snowing. Of Course he had to come and wake me up to tell me. Needless to say we made snow angels today.

Happy Halloween!

I Love Halloween! There is something about dressing up, and being what ever or who ever you want to be. Jaxson finally got the concept of Halloween this year, which made it super fun to take him. Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!

I've Been Tagged

6 Quirks

1- When I start any kind of project I won't do anything else until it's finished. Including eating and sleeping. Ask Ryan he will tell you all about it. I think I need some help in that department.
2- I tell people I really like the Twilight Saga, but secretly I'm obsessed. I am counting down the days till the movie comes out. 27 Days and counting. Wow! I need help in that department also.
3- I can't drink the bottom of any drink, especially water bottles. I've tried, but I just can't get myself to do it.
4- I hate to share my food. I think it's because I grew up with 7 kids in my family and not enough to eat. The sad thing is I don't even want to share with Jaxson or Ryan.
5- I put sheets on my bed but I won't sleep under them.
6- I will drive all over town to ten different stores to save 5 bucks when it cost me 15 bucks in gas.

Kids Say The Funniest Things!

Jaxson is a hoot! He says the funniest things all the time, that I decided to write some of them down. I love this age, I could keep him 3 forever. Here are just some of the things he said this week.
-Jaxson was going #2 on the potty. I came in to see if he was finished so I could help him and he said, "Mom will you please leave, I'm trying to concentrate!"
-Madelyn was laying on the floor and Jaxson came over to her and put is ear on her stomach and said, "Mom I can hear the ocean."
-I went to pick Jaxson up from school, and when we got into the car he told me that I looked scrumptious.
-I went into my bedroom and found Jaxson sneaking crackers that were on my nightstand. I asked him, "what are you doing!" He looked at me a little frightened when he was caught in the act and said, "go away mom, I'm busy!"

I just want to eat him up!

The Great Task of Getting Pictures!

If I would have known how great the kids were going to be I would have had Ryan come. I just want to give a big thanks to Cami for helping me with the kids during the pictures, giving high pitch squeals to get the girls attention, and for referring me to a great photographer Caroline. Caroline thanks for capturing some great moments!
Here are some of my favorites.

Jaxson's First Day Of Preschool

Jaxson was so excited to start school, I think he asked me (No Joke) 50 times if it was time to go to school. Every minute for Jaxson seems like hours. I can see now why mom's cry the first day their child goes to school. Every mom thinks their child is so wonderful, but our Jaxson is the most sweetest, cutest, most adorable child ever! No offense.

Farm Country

Today we took a trip to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. It was perfect for our young family. Jaxson was definitely scared of the animals. He loved to look at them, talk to them, but didn't want anything to do with petting them. After about 15 minutes of convincing, he unwillingly went on the pony ride. He was pretty much scared the whole ride. We love our little rugrat! Jaxson doesn't like to venture out much, he likes to play it safe. As a mom, I'm alright with that. As for Addison and Madelyn, they were angels. You never know how the day's event will go with two babies. Hopefully as they get older we can venture out a little more with our family.

Doubley Blessed

On July 6th Addison and Madelyn were blessed by their dad. Addison cried through the whole blessing. Classic Addy! We are truly blessed to have our sweet little children. We love them so much! Thanks to all the family that came to support us.
